Meet Princewill Ogban, Philanthropist Driven by Compassion, Service

Princewill Ogban, a native of Etana in Erei North, Biase Local Government Area of Cross River State, has built a life anchored on compassion, service, and a strong commitment to uplifting others, particularly young people.
His journey into leadership began at the University of Calabar, where he was actively involved in student unionism and rose to the position of Secretary General of the Social Science Students Association. This early exposure to leadership and advocacy shaped his lifelong dedication to service. In 2003, even before migrating to Canada, he demonstrated his passion for grassroots development by contesting for councillorship.
Princewill’s academic path reflects his deep interest in social development and human wellbeing. He holds a degree in Geography and Regional Planning from the University of Calabar, a degree in Social Work from Dalhousie University in Canada, and a Master of Social Work from the University of Waterloo. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Social Work at the University of Calabar and is a Registered Social Worker in both Canada and Nigeria.
Professionally, Princewill serves as Director of Justice, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Accessibility with the Federal Government of Canada. His career has been marked by roles that emphasize fairness, inclusion, and service to humanity. These include positions as Regional Coordinator at Nova Scotia Community College, Project Lead at the Nova Scotia Health Authority, Manager at the Hamilton Anti Racism Centre at McMaster University, Manager at the Workplace Equity and Inclusion Branch of the City of Ottawa, and Delegate to the United Nations Permanent Forum for People of African Descent.
Beyond public service, Princewill is an entrepreneur with a strong social conscience. He co founded Patwill Consulting Services Limited in Nigeria, Patwill Center for Health in Canada, and Patwill Solar, while also investing in real estate in both Canada and Nigeria. Through these ventures, he has consistently created opportunities and supported community development initiatives across Biase, Cross River State, Nigeria, Canada, and beyond.
At the heart of his philanthropy is a passion for youth empowerment. Princewill understands the challenges facing young people in Biase and other communities and has remained closely connected to them, advocating for good governance and sustainable opportunities for growth. His interventions are guided by the belief that empowered youths are essential to building resilient and prosperous societies.
In 2020, he organized a migration empowerment workshop for Nigerian youths, providing them with practical knowledge and tools to make informed decisions about their future. He continues to engage governments, institutions, and community groups on policies and programmes aimed at improving youth livelihoods.
His commitment to service is matched by tangible support. In 2025, Princewill contributed five hundred thousand naira to support the National Youth Council of Nigeria Biase Youth Summit, a gesture that underscored his dedication to investing in the next generation.
Princewill Ogban’s life and work reflect a consistent pattern of compassion in action. Through leadership, philanthropy, and service, he continues to demonstrate that meaningful impact is built on empathy, commitment, and a genuine desire to see others thrive.
