Chairman Of Ikom LGA Set To Partner With CSD Microfinance Bank To Boost The Economy

The Executive Chairman of Ikom Local Government Area, Pst. Mercy Nsor, is poised to partner with Central Senatorial District Microfinance Bank (CSD) to drive economic growth and development in the local government area.
The chairman stated this when a delegation from the bank, led by its Board Chairman Dr. Roy Ndoma Egba, paid a courtesy call on the Executive Chairman to discuss potential partnership opportunities.
Speaking, the Board Chairman of CSD Dr. Roy Ndoma Egba said the bank is ready to partner with the council in a partnership aimed towards boosting economic growth and development of Ikom LGA through strategic alliances under the Sustainable Programme on Economic Empowerment and Livelihood (SPELL) initiative.
He explained that the program is expected to help Ikom LGA become a major exporter and producer of crops such as cassava, soybeans, and cocoa, creating jobs, generating revenue for the local government as well as youth empowerment through skills acquisition.
He further added that CSD Microfinance Bank is capable of injecting over ₦1 billion into the LGA economy, underscoring its potential to drive significant economic development.
In her response, the Executive Chairman of Ikom Local Government Council Hon. Mercy Nsor applauded the initiative, describing it as a stroke of good fortune for the local government area.
She assured the team of the council's readiness to collaborate fully to ensure the partnership's success, describing it as a partnership that is expected to yield significant benefits for local communities as well as drive economic growth and development in the area.
