Fire Guts SPAR Mall in Calabar

Panic broke out in Calabar on Saturday morning after a massive fire engulfed part of the SPAR shopping mall in the Cross River State capital, destroying parts of the multi-million naira facility.
As of press time, the cause of the inferno and extent of damage was yet to be determined while bystanders were seen battling to contain the flames and prevent them from spreading to nearby structures.
Residents expressed anger over the late arrival of firefighters, saying the fire would have been contained if they arrived earlier.
