19 New Programmes Expand Admission Opportunities at UNICROSS

By Ebi COLLINS

Admission opportunities at the University of Cross River State (UNICROSS) have received a significant boost with the introduction of 19 new academic programmes for the 2026/2027 session.

The programmes, which have been introduced across the Calabar and Okuku campuses, provide prospective students with new pathways into fields ranging from architecture and engineering to artificial intelligence, computing and health sciences.

The university’s Registrar, Dr. (Mrs.) Catherine Ndifon Osai, announced the development while inviting eligible candidates to participate in the 2026/2027 First-Choice Admission Screening Exercise.

According to the admission notice, candidates who made UNICROSS their first choice in the 2026 UTME and scored at least 150 are eligible for the screening, while those who initially selected other institutions may change their institution of choice to UNICROSS through the JAMB website.

At the Calabar Campus, the newly introduced programmes are Architecture, Interior Architecture Design, Landscape Architecture, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering, Production and Material Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, Science Laboratory Technology and Artificial Intelligence Engineering.

The Okuku Campus will offer Human Nutrition and Dietetics, Medical Laboratory Science, Physiotherapy, Community Health Science, Forensic Science, Radiography, Pharmacology and Nursing Science.

The university said applicants are to pay a N2,000 screening fee through its online portal using a Master, Visa or Verve card, bank transfer or USSD.

Candidates are required to visit admissions.unicross.edu.ng, enter their JAMB registration number, purchase an E-PIN and proceed to complete the online application.

They are also expected to upload their O’Level result(s), JAMB result slip and recent passport photograph, while ensuring that their contact details are correct and documents are properly scanned.

UNICROSS emphasised that the screening is online and applicants are not required to appear physically at the university or travel to any of its campuses for the exercise.

The institution urged candidates to confirm the campus where their chosen programme is domiciled before submitting their applications.

The new programmes are expected to strengthen the university’s academic capacity while opening additional avenues for students seeking professional and specialised education in areas of growing national and global relevance.

UNICROSS has urged qualified candidates to make use of the expanded admission opportunities and provided 08189351784, 09015055999, 09053310247, 09068968666 and 07071919527 for enquiries.
