THE BEAGLE NEWS, established on May 29, 2023, is a weekly community newspaper and an online news outlet committed to providing news coverage on the neighbourhood, individuals, suburbs and the metropolis, within Cross River and surrounding states of Ebonyi, Akwa Ibom, Rivers, Bayelsa, Edo and Delta.
THE BEAGLE NEWS is especially committed to telling the Cross River story from the perspectives of the people and communities who have the rich social-cultural heritage and values. We would also pay attention to the entertainment and social happenings around our milieu in line with the tourism destination point of the state.
In this Information Age/Digital Age, in which information and news are seen as commodities for readers/audience to buy, we would go the extra mile to report news in depth, interpret it as well as serve news in a refreshing, balanced ways.
We, therefore, offer a platform for the masses to express their views, opinions, resentments, appreciations and constructive criticism of the in leadership and policies of government.
Above all, the paper would promote commerce and business and bring returns on investment; we would also partner with all the stakeholders at various communities for the benefit of mankind.
We understand the feelings of the people and we would give expression to it through this medium.

THE TEAM
DR. JUDEX OKORO, B.A; PGDJ; M.A & Ph.D
HE is the Editor-in-Chief and Vice Chairman of BEAGLE COMMUNICATIONS LTD. He has over twenty years experience in print journalism and reporting.
He has worked in various national dailies including HALLMARK, NATIONAL INTEREST, DAILY TIMES and SUN before venturing into Community Newspapering. He has special interest in community and political community reporting; features writing and niche publications.
He attended University of Uyo where he obtained his first degree in English Studies and University of Calabar where he obtained his M.A and Ph.D in Journalism/ New Media and Print Journalism respectively. He is a member of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Cross River State Council and was a former Internal Auditor and Financial Secretary of and Chairman of Correspondents' Chapel of NUJ, Cross River State. .
He is currently an Adjunct Lecturer in the Department of Mass Communication, University of Calabar, Calabar, Nigeria. He is a Media Relations/Management, Political Communication and Community Newspapering consultant.

VICTOR UDU
HE is the Managing Editor and an administrator with a journalism practice spanning across over 30 years in State Newspaper Cooperation and Ministry of information.he He is a member of National Productivity Council (NPC). He was a former chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalists, Cross River State Council.
He was a former Deputy Editor, Ministry of Information. Cross River State; former Sub-Editor NIGERIAN CHRONICLE Newspaper and former Information Officer at Biase, Yakurr, Abi LGAs. He has a special interest in Newspaper Production and Aesthetics.

He is the Deputy Editor and holds an OND in Mass Communication and HND in Journalism. He has PGD in Advertising and Public Relations. He has 27 years experience spanning across news reporting, sports reporting, commentaries, features and editorial writing, marketing and corporate image management.
HANNAH PIUS ARIKPO
SHE is the Assistant News Editor and has experience in Broadcasting and Print journalism. She studied English Education at the University of Calabar.
ANTHONY EKPO BASSEEY
HE is the features Editor and holds a first Degree in Communication Arts (UniUyo); M.A in Political Communication (University of Cross River State) and Ph.D in Health Communication (Unical). He is a contemporary scholar with special interests in digital media, media and disability and political reporting. He has worked in several print and broadcasting sector in different parts of the country, including Southern Details Newspaper and Vision Africa Radio and has numerous media productions to his name. He is also passionate about news analysis, features and opinion writing in newspapers.
MISSANG AKPET
He is a Senior Correspondent and in charge of Online and the Social Media platforms. He has over ten years of experience in journalism that cuts across the electronic, online and print media. He holds a first degree in Geography and Regional Planning from the University of Calabar and a Diploma Certificate in Media Studies. He has a flare for current affairs, ICT and sports journalism.
UNYIME BASSEY
She is a pioneer Akwa Ibom State Correspondent and holds Higher National Diploma in Mass Communication from Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic, Ikot Osurua. She is a community journalist who has had a stint with The INK Newspaper,, CRADLE Newspaper, Ibom News Hub and online. She is a budding reporter with special interest in educational and community development reporting. She is a member of Nigerian Union of Journalist (NUJ) Akwa Ibom State Council.
ABRAHAM ELOCHUKWU UKPA
He is a freelance reporter and an undergraduate of Department of Mass Communication, University of Calabar. He is budding writer with interest in human interest reporting.

She is Passionate about developing long-term client relationship which promotes organizational value. An exceptional certified Human Resource Manager. She is adaptable, detail oriented with a strong work ethic, excellent service skills, able to work in a collaborative team environment and a strong drive to see things through to completion.
She is Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Access), has knowledge in administrative procedures; Strong communication and interpersonal skills; Documentation/reporting; Human Resource management; Data base management and Effective team player.
