Two Men Killed by Mob Over Suspected Robbery in Calabar South
Two unidentified men have been killed after they were allegedly apprehended and attacked by a mob over suspected involvement in a robbery in Calabar South, Cross River State.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday, August 30, 2026, along Ekpo Obasi, near Yellow Duke.
The Cross River State Police Command said its operatives visited the scene, documented the incident and commenced investigations to establish the circumstances surrounding the deaths and identify the victims.
The remains of the two men have since been evacuated for proper preservation.
The Police Command condemned the incident and urged residents to avoid jungle justice, stressing that suspected criminals should be handed over to lawful authorities for investigation and prosecution.
