‎The pupils and teachers kidnapped in Orire Local Government Area of Oyo State have been freed.

‎The announcement was made on Friday by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

‎Posting on his verified X account, Onanuga confirmed that security operatives had secured the victims' release.

‎

‎He wrote "finally, all the kidnapped pupils and teachers in Orire, Oyo have been rescued by our security agencies."

‎

‎However, authorities have not released further details about the operation, including the circumstances surrounding the rescue or whether any ransom was paid.
