BREAKING: Etta, Lukpata, Okon Emerge as Consensus Candidates for C’River APC Chair, Deputy, Secretary

Barring any last-minute changes, Hon. Chris Etta, a former member of the House of Representatives who represented the Ikom/Boki Federal Constituency, has emerged as the consensus candidate for Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Cross River State.

Etta, who hails from Boki Local Government Area, is widely regarded as a close ally of Governor Bassey Otu and political stalwart, Ambassador Soni Abang.

Hon. Ugana Lukpata from Yala Local Government Area is set to emerge as Deputy State Chairman, while Mr. Patrick Okon from Calabar Municipality in the Southern Senatorial District is expected to retain his position as State Secretary.

As of the time of filing this report, delegates had converged on the U. J. Esuene Stadium to endorse the list of consensus candidates reportedly agreed upon by party stakeholders at a prior meeting held at the State Library Complex, Calabar.
