C’River APC Deepens Alliance With NASS Caucus
By Ekanem Asuquo
In a renewed push to tighten its internal ranks and energise its reform agenda, the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Cross River State has opened high level consultations with members of the party’s National Assembly caucus, placing unity and party expansion at the heart of its political strategy.
The strategic engagement, held last Tuesday in Abuja, brought together the state leadership of the APC and its federal lawmakers at the office of the Cross River National Assembly Caucus Leader, Senator Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe. The meeting was led by the APC State Chairman, Ntufam Ekum Ekok Ojogu, accompanied by the State Secretary, Pastor Patrick Asikpo.
Setting the tone for the discussions, Ojogu said the visit was a deliberate effort to reinforce internal cohesion and ensure that all critical stakeholders were fully aligned with the party’s ongoing electronic registration exercise and broader reforms. He stressed that unity remained the lifeblood of the APC, noting that a cohesive party structure was essential for effective grassroots mobilisation and long term political success in the state.
The APC chairman affirmed the resolve of the state leadership to build a more inclusive and resilient party, capable of galvanising members across wards and local government areas while positioning the APC for future electoral contests.
Responding, Senator Jarigbe described the engagement as both strategic and timely, underscoring the need for constant synergy between party leaders and elected representatives. He assured the visiting delegation of the National Assembly caucus’ commitment to supporting the e registration exercise and sustaining peace and cooperation within the party.
Also contributing, Senator Eteng Williams of the Cross River Central Senatorial District highlighted the role of sustained dialogue in preserving stability within the APC. He said regular consultations among leaders would not only prevent internal divisions but also strengthen the party’s institutional processes and expand its membership base across the state.
The meeting drew participation from members of the House of Representatives, including Bassey Akiba of Odukpani and Calabar Municipality, Alex Egbona of Abi and Yakurr, Mike Etaba of Obubra and Etung, and Godwin Offiono of Ogoja and Yala.
The Abuja parley forms part of a wider political outreach by the APC leadership to consolidate its structures, confront emerging challenges, and ignite renewed grassroots momentum as the party works to entrench its influence across Cross River State.
