Mensah Pledges Support for Kiddies Music Festival Nigeria

‎Cross River State Commissioner for Environment, Hon. Bassey Mensah, has pledged to support Kiddies Music Festival Nigeria (KMF) as a patron of the organisation.

‎Mensah made the commitment on Tuesday when members of KMF, adopted children of the state’s First Lady, Bishop (Mrs) Eyoanwan Bassey Edet Otu, visited him in his office.

‎The visit featured musical and dramatic performances by the children, with the organisation highlighting its efforts to discover and develop young talents through creative arts.

‎The leader of the group Mr. Michael Brown, said KMF was established to provide children with opportunities to develop their talents, become self-reliant and pursue meaningful careers. He added that the organisation also seeks to reduce youth restiveness, low self-esteem, child abuse and trafficking, as well as teenage pregnancy, while instilling Christian values in children.

‎Mensah commended the children for their performance, particularly their presentation during the visit of Nigeria's First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, to the state.

‎“I see future governors among you. I see future first ladies, doctors, judges and bankers among you,” he said, encouraging the children to take their talents seriously.

‎The Commissioner, who recalled the influence of Sunday School on his own life, urged the leaders of the group to encourage the children to acquire practical skills, particularly in playing musical instruments of their choice.

‎He also charged the children to remain good ambassadors of the state’s First Lady and the administration’s “Season of Sweetness” agenda.
