CVR: Otu’s Aide Pays Advocacy Visit to INEC

As part of efforts to create awareness and encourage mass participation in the Continuous Voters’ Registration (CVR) exercise, an aide to Governor Prince Bassey Otu, Dr. Prince Michael Abuo, yesterday paid an advocacy visit to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Cross River State.
Abuo, who is the State Co-ordinator for African Union Development Agency/New Partnership for Africa’s Development (AUDA-NEPAD), was received at the Commission headquarters by the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in the State, Dr. Johnson S. Alalibo and a host of other management staff.
Abuo, who is also the State Coordinator for INEC-CVR Initiative, used the interactive session to restate the commitment of the Governor Bassey Otu’s led administration towards a seamless process for the citizenry to perform their civic duties.
He expressed readiness to consolidate on the achievements recorded so far by his team in the Continuous Voters’ Registration (CVR) exercise, to ensure that INEC realize her mandate in the State.
Dr. Abuo disclosed that the exercise remains dear to the governor, adding that no stone will be left unturned to step up the State electoral value.
In his welcome remark, the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in the State, Dr Johnson S. Alalibo, commended the strides of Prince Michael Abuo and his team.
He assured the State Government, every political party and other stakeholders in the State of the needed technical support and a level playing ground for all to succeed.
Alalibo said the commission will continue to play its constitutional role while maintaining neutrality to actual its mandate in Cross River State.
Prince Abuo was accompanied by some EXCO members of Cross River State Political Network (CRISPON) across the State including the organization’s Secretary, Mr. Eta Ekong among others.
