Centenarian Commends Navy Support for Orphanage

A centernarian and founder of Blessed Home and Faitĥ Foster Home, Mrs Blessing Duke, has commended the Nigerian Navy for its support and giving hope to the hopeless.
She gave this commendation when the participants of Course 9 of the Nigeria War College supported the home with various food items, beverages, and detergents in Calabar on Monday.
Duke said the support will not only sustain the children for a period of time but also give them hope that they are not forgotten by society.
"Am very thankful of you and sincerely appreciate you for remembering these children and also giving them hope for a better tomorrow," she stated.
In his address, the Course President, Commander Umar Abdullahi, said that the support was part of annual donation by the college to celebrate their graduation.
He noted that the course 9 had 30 participants, including officers from the Cameroon, Democratic Republic of Congo, and Ghana Navy.
According to him, the support is meant to give the orphans hope that they have hope for a brighter future.
"It is also meant to remind them that their situation today is not a determinant of their tomorrow.
"As customary, we chose to celebrate our graduation with them for them to know that they are loved and not forgotten," he stated.
Simirlarly, Mrs Nkoyo Anado, who noted that over 300 persons have passed through the orphanage home founded in 1970, said Naval support have made them relevant.
"You have given us hope today.
You have been our father today, and you have been our mother today.
All this is because God laid in your heart to do this.
"I am not just a leader, but I am also a product of this home. It is this home that made me what I am today, and It is your services like this that have given me the courage to be who I am today.
"I am not just an ordinary person, but I am a strong woman built and led by our granny(founder).
She has been a very firm and a strong foundation to me.
"She has been able to sacrifice everything for me and other children to go to school, and we have achieved that height.
"But the only disadvantage we have is the disadvantage of discrimination in society. But we having you today has given us a better hope that our tomorrow is beautiful," she said.
