Eso Mobilises Bakassi Women for Otu’s Second Term

The Vice Chairman of Bakassi Local Government Area, Princess Christiana Eso, has intensified grassroots mobilisation for Governor Bassey Edet Otu’s second term bid, engaging women leaders and community stakeholders across the local government.
Eso, while addressing a cross section of Bakassi women comprising ward executives of the Progressive Women Front, Bakassi Chapter, and community leaders, urged stakeholders to strengthen grassroots structures and deepen political mobilisation ahead of the 2027 elections.
She said a well coordinated grassroots network would be critical to securing a landslide victory for the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the local government.
According to her, the interaction was designed to consolidate ward structures and ensure effective mobilisation down to the polling unit level.
Eso urged the women to remain committed to their grassroots responsibilities, stressing the importance of sustained coordination and engagement in achieving the party’s electoral objectives.
She also called on them to remain steadfast in their support for Governor Otu’s second term bid and avoid being distracted by what she described as political antics by opposition elements.
Responding, the women pledged their support for the governor’s reelection, citing the prevailing peace and security in Bakassi as a major reason for their decision.
They said the improved security situation had restored freedom of movement across their communities, enabling residents to move freely without the fear and restrictions they previously experienced.
The women also pledged to take the campaign for Otu into their homes and mobilise members of their households to vote massively for the APC.
The engagement formed part of Eso’s continuing grassroots mobilisation efforts in Bakassi, with emphasis on strengthening political organisation and sustaining engagement with women across the local government.
The meeting also underscored the importance of women in household and community level mobilisation as political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections gather momentum.
