Otu Merits Second Term, No Debate Needed, Says Ironbar
By Benjamin GBOR
The Prince is Coming Movement has declared that Governor Bassey Otu has earned a second term in office, citing what it described as measurable achievements across key sectors.
Chief of Staff to the Governor and leader of the movement, Emmanuel Ironbar, made the declaration on Wednesday while addressing members in Calabar. He said the administration’s performance has made the case for continuity clear.
“We do not need a soothsayer,” Ironbar said, noting that the governor’s record in office speaks for itself.
He explained that the movement, which grew out of the political experiences of 2015 and 2019, has evolved into a strong grassroots platform committed to promoting people centred leadership.
Ironbar highlighted ongoing infrastructure projects, particularly road construction across the state, as well as improvements in security, youth empowerment programmes and job creation. He also pointed to increased federal presence, including the Lagos Calabar Coastal Highway and the proposed deep seaport, as signs of strengthened collaboration under the current administration.
The movement
reaffirmed its support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, urging Nigerians to sustain the administration at the federal level in order to consolidate ongoing reforms and development efforts.
In the same vein, the Secretary of the movement and Special Adviser to the Governor on General Duties, Ekpenyong Akiba, announced that a mega endorsement rally will be held on April 18.
Akiba said the rally is expected to attract over 1.5 million participants and will serve as a platform to formally endorse both Governor Otu and President Tinubu for another term in office.
He described the event as a major political statement, reflecting growing grassroots support and its potential to shape the state’s political landscape ahead of future elections.
The movement called on its members and supporters to mobilise massively for the rally, expressing confidence that the show of solidarity would strengthen its position going forward.
