Mining firm, Arittgray Nigeria Limited, an indigenous mining company operating in the Agoi Communities of Yakurr local government area in Cross River State has made its first quarterly financial commitment to its host communities in fulfilment of the Community Development Agreement (CDA) signed on June 25, 2025.

The agreement covers Agoi Ekpo, Agoi Ibami, Ekom Agoi and Itu Agoi.

The gesture marks a major step in strengthening the relationship between the company and the Agoi people while also demonstrating its commitment to responsible mining and community development.

For many residents, this action represents more than just financial compliance. It is a sign of sincerity and progress which is a prove that natural resources can bring real development when managed with transparency.

As part of its ongoing projects, Arittgray Nigeria Limited has also drilled over eight solar powered boreholes across the Agoi Nation to provide clean and safe water.

Some of the completed projects are located in Ayoyoa Ward, Obanghakpai Ward, Ikpari Ward, Ibiniden Ward and ATTAH’s Palace all in Agoi Ibami Community.

The Company has also provided Solar powered boreholes in Agoi Ekpo at the ATTAH’s Palace in Akarukpat Ward, Ijiman Ward as well as Ekom Agoi.

The initiative has already brought relief to families who previously relied on unsafe sources of water.

The Managing Director of Arittgray Nigeria Limited, Engineer Israel Uboh, said over ninety percent of work on the borehole projects had been completed and that the facilities would soon be handed over to the benefitting Communities.

He reaffirmed the determination of the company to honour every part of the agreement, stressing that Arittgray was committed to building trust, promoting development and ensuring mutual benefit.

“Our relationship with the Agoi Communities is not just about mining minerals but about people and progress,” he said.

“We want to leave behind development, empowerment and impact.”

Community leaders and residents expressed appreciation to the Company for keeping its word, describing the projects as a sign of genuine partnership.

They noted that the boreholes would improve health conditions and make life easier for the people.

Our Correspondent reports that each borehole is equipped with solar panels, overhead tanks and multiple fetching points with local residents already being trained on maintenance to ensure sustainability.

With this first round of commitments and visible projects, Arittgray Nigeria Limited has set an example of how responsible mining can bring shared prosperity and lasting development to host communities.
