Cleric Honours LGSC Boss for Pragmatic Leadership
The Chairman of the Local Government Service Commission Mr Darlington Bassey Eyo has been honoured by the Indigenous Calabar Ministers Forum of the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria for what they described as his pragmatic and value driven leadership in public service.
A delegation of the Forum led by the Moderator of the Calabar Synod of the Presbyterian Church Most Rev Daniel Eyo Etim paid a courtesy visit to the Commission in Calabar where they conveyed the goodwill message of the Prelate of the Church Dr Ekpenyong Akpanika to the Chairman and members of the Commission. The ministers also applauded Governor Bassey Edet Otu for appointing credible and competent personalities into key positions of government.
During the visit the religious leaders commended Mr Eyo for promoting high moral and spiritual standards in the discharge of his duties. They also made recommendations aimed at strengthening ethical conduct and service delivery in the public sector.
In his response Mr Eyo expressed delight over the honour and described the visit as spiritually significant. He maintained that no meaningful achievement is possible without divine guidance and acknowledged the grace of God as the source of his elevation.
He stated that matters of faith and spirituality should not be taken for granted and added that he did not consider himself the most qualified for the role but attributed his appointment to the grace of God and the ancient altar of faith that has continued to guide him.
The LGSC Chairman appreciated the ministers for their prayers and support and commended their sustained efforts in advancing the Gospel and moral values in society.
The visit featured a prayer and worship session and the presentation of a Holy Bible to the Chairman as a symbolic act of blessing and spiritual empowerment for his leadership.
