Burkina Faso Waives Visa Fees For All Africans Travellers

Burkina Faso has announced the removal of visa fees for all African travelers, effective from Friday September 13.
This according to security minister Mahamadou Sana is aimed at facilitating free movement of people and goods across the continent, promoting regional integration, tourism, and cultural exchange.
"From now on, any citizen from an African country wishing to come to Burkina Faso will not pay any amount to cover visa fees" Sana said
Although visa fees are waived, African visitors will still need to submit an online visa application for approval.
Burkina Faso joins countries like Ghana, Rwanda, and Kenya, which have eased travel requirements for African visitors.
This move reflects Burkina Faso's commitment to Pan-Africanist ideals and regional integration, aligning with the African Union's vision of a single African passport and free movement of people and goods.
Burkina Faso's decision comes after the country withdrew from the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) alongside Mali and Niger, who are both under military rule.
