ADC Gains Momentum as Reps Hopeful, Tawo, Unveils Party Headquarters in Etung

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has received a significant grassroots boost in Cross River State following the donation of party headquarters in Etung Local Government Area and Bendeghe Ekiem by House of Representatives aspirant, Dr. Obah Edom Tawo.
Tawo, a leading contender for the Obubra/Etung Federal Constituency seat, said the initiative accentuates his commitment to building a credible political alternative anchored on service, structure, and grassroots inclusion.
Speaking in a statement, the ICT expert and businessman stressed that leadership must be demonstrated through tangible actions, not merely campaign promises.
“Service is not a reward for electoral victory; it is the foundation upon which the aspiration for public office must stand,” he said.
He disclosed that the newly established ADC Constituency Headquarters in Efraya, Etung Local Government Area, is a permanent facility designed to coordinate party activities across all 21 wards, strengthening internal organisation and political participation.
According to him, the project is part of a deliberate effort to reposition the ADC as a viable and people-driven alternative to existing political structures in the constituency.
Tawo further revealed that an additional ward headquarters has been donated in Bendeghe Ekiem, his hometown, to deepen the party’s presence at the community level.
He noted that the facilities are collective assets meant to serve party members and the wider community, including youths, women, farmers, and traders.
“These structures are platforms for mobilisation, inclusion, and sustained political engagement. They reflect our vision of a responsive and participatory political system,” he added.
Reaffirming his commitment to the people of Obubra and Etung, Tawo called on residents to embrace the ADC as a platform for genuine change by actively participating in the political process.
He maintained that the initiative aligns with his greater vision of building enduring political institutions capable of driving long-term development and inclusive governance in the constituency.
Observers say the development signals a growing political shift in the area, with Tawo’s approach positioning both himself and the ADC as a structured and credible alternative ahead of the 2027 elections.
