150 Persons Benefit From Navy Medical Outreach in Rivers State

No fewer than 150 residents of Ikuru community of Andoni local government area of River state have benefitted from Navy outpost medical outreach in Ikuru community in Rivers State.
The Commanding Officer of the Naval Outpost, Commander Adams Kajola, described the even which took placed on Wednesday as part of the Nigerian Navy's Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR) and activities lined up to mark end of the year.
The Commanding Officer emphasised the importance of good health in community development.
He further reiterated the Navy's commitment to the wellbeing of its host communities, adding that it aligned with the mission, vision, and strategic directive of the Chief of Naval Staff.
"As our host community, we owe it a duty to see to your wellbeing, health wise.
"This, however, calls for your support at all times to enable us to carry out our duties in an atmosphere of peace and we want to also appeal to us to be law abiding," he said.
The outreach provided free medical services, including blood pressure checks, blood sugar screenings, malaria and typhoid tests, medication distribution, health talks, and medical consultations.
The beneficiaries were also provided with free insecticide-treated mosquito.
Meanwhile, the secretary Community Development Council of Ikuru, ASP Sunday Jacob (rtd), commended the Navy for the medical outreach and pledged the community’s continual support for Naval operations in the area.
