The Police Service Commission (PSC), in partnership with the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), has announced the commencement of physical and credential screening for 50,000 applicants in the ongoing recruitment of Police Constables nationwide.

In a press release signed by Torty Njoku Kalu, Spokesman of the Commission, and issued at the PSC Headquarters in Abuja on February 24, 2026, the Commission stated that the screening exercise will take place from March 9 to April 18, 2026, across designated centres in all states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory.

The Commission directed all candidates who successfully completed the online registration to visit the official recruitment portal at npfapplication.psc.gov.ng to check their application status and print the required documents ahead of their scheduled screening date and time as indicated on their invitation slips.

Applicants are required to present the following documents at their screening venues: Guarantors Form, Application Submission Slip, Invitation Slip, Credential Screening Form, and Physical Screening Form.

In addition, candidates must bring along their original National Identity Number (NIN) printout or card issued by the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), O’ Level (GCE/SSCE) certificate, birth certificate or declaration of age, and Local Government/State of Origin certificate. Applicants applying as specialists are also expected to present relevant trade test certificates.

The PSC further instructed candidates to neatly package both the original and duplicate copies of their credentials in two separate white flat files, each accompanied by recent passport photographs. A duly completed and signed Guarantors Form, with attached photocopies and passport photographs of referees, must also be submitted.

Candidates are to appear at their respective screening centres dressed in white canvas shoes, white T-shirts, white shorts, and white stockings, in line with the approved screening guidelines.

Chairman of the Police Service Commission, DIG Hashimu Salihu Argungu (rtd), mni, reiterated that the recruitment exercise is entirely free of charge and involves no financial obligation.

He assured applicants that the process would be conducted in accordance with the highest standards of transparency and accountability, while cautioning them to beware of fraudsters and online impostors seeking to exploit the recruitment exercise. He warned that anyone found attempting to defraud applicants would be arrested and prosecuted.

The Commission reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring a fair, transparent, and merit-based recruitment process as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the operational capacity of the Nigeria Police Force.
