UCTH Rolls Out Biometric Click in/Out System To Regulate Work Hours

The Management of University of Calabar Teaching Hospital (UCTH) had commenced full rollout Biometric Clock-In/Clock-Out System to regulate work hours in health sector.

The system is contained in circular issued by the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare on August 13, 2026

under the National Policy on Work Hour Regulation for Health Institutions, which directed 

Checks by THE BEAGLE NEWS showed that several health institutions across the country are yet to comply, but UCTH under the leadership of Prof. Ikpeme A. Ikpeme , has taken the lead to install it.

This reflect the the CND's passion for technology-driven systems and firm support for federal government policy.

Ikpeme said this marks another milestone in service delivery and a reaffirmation of the Management's commitment to repositioning UCTH in line with modern healthcare standards.

He enjoins all staff to comply fully as the Biometric clock-in and clock-out records will serve as the sole recognized evidence of staff attendance for all administrative purposes.
