Manchester United to Submit Formal Complaint to PGMOL Over Penalty Decision

Manchester United are preparing to lodge a formal complaint to Professional Game Match Officials Limited following the referee’s decision not to award what the club believes should have been a second penalty during last night’s match.
The complaint is expected to centre on an incident involving Amad Diallo, who United argue was clearly wrestled to the ground inside the penalty area at a crucial stage of the game. According to the club’s position, there was no genuine attempt by the defender to play the ball, making the contact a straightforward foul.
United are also expected to highlight what they view as inconsistent officiating during the same match. The club believes similar physical contact elsewhere on the pitch resulted in a different decision, particularly in an incident involving defender Harry Maguire. This, they argue, raises concerns about the application of refereeing standards.
The Old Trafford side are reportedly seeking clarification on why the Video Assistant Referee did not intervene, despite what they consider clear evidence of a foul. Officials at the club believe the moment could have significantly influenced the outcome of the match.
