Ekpenyong Launches Women Empowerment Training in Cross River South

A five day intensive skill acquisition programme aimed at strengthening women owned businesses has commenced in Cross River South Senatorial District through the support of Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong in collaboration with the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria SMEDAN.
At the opening session, Prince Charles Ekanem who represented the Senator said the training was part of ongoing efforts to equip women with practical skills and business support to expand their enterprises.
He assured the participants that the initiative would be sustained to enable beneficiaries access grants, mentorship and relevant tools to scale up and compete within and outside the country.
A participant, Mrs Umoh Boniface Udo, commended Senator Ekpenyong for his consistent commitment to women empowerment in the district.
She urged fellow women to take the exercise seriously and apply the knowledge gained to improve their economic standing and contribute meaningfully to community development.
The training which continues on Wednesday at the Pyramid Hotel in Calabar is expected to benefit both start ups and existing businesses.
