Atiku Criticizes Tinubu Administration Over Rising Poverty and Hunger, Warns of Revolt

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has expressed deep concern over the worsening poverty and hunger in Nigeria, despite the Tinubu administration's claims of implementing reforms.
In a statement released on Monday, Atiku lamented the rising hardship across the country, warning that it could lead to increased criminality, insecurity, and social unrest.
The former vice president stated that the masses of Nigerians are wallowing in misery and poverty under the current administration, with food insecurity being a daily occurrence nationwide.
He drew parallels between the current economic conditions and historical events such as the French Revolution, the 1917 Russian Revolution, and the Arab Spring, which were fueled by hunger and frustration.
Atiku also linked the current situation to the #ENDSARS protest, which he said was fueled by the traumatizing frustration of hunger and government insensitivity while criticising the Tinubu administration for lacking the capacity to tackle hunger and poverty, despite claims of undertaking reforms.
He emphasized the need for reforms to prioritize the welfare and security of citizens, stating that "there is no government worth its salt that does not place priority on the welfare and security of the people".
