ADC Takes Over APC Office in Bendeghe-Ekiem Over Rent Indebtedness

By Ben GBOR

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has taken over the former office of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bendeghe-Ekiem Ward, Etung Local Government Area of Cross River State, following reported indebtedness on rent by the APC.

The development has drawn political attention in the area, further reinforcing the growing profile of the ADC as an emerging alternative political platform with expanding grassroots structures.

The office, located just before Ekimaya Street in Bendeghe-Ekiem, is now being used as the official ADC ward secretariat in the area.

Findings indicate that the APC was unable to sustain rent obligations for the facility, leading to its eventual takeover by the new occupants.

When THE BEAGLE NEWS sought clarification on the situation, a senior APC stakeholder who pleaded anonymity confirmed the development, attributing it to financial constraints and neglect by the party’s ward structure.

The source further alleged that the ADC’s frontline House of Representatives aspirant for Obubra/Etung Federal Constituency, Dr. Obah Edom Tawo, facilitated the acquisition of the office space for the party at ward level.

THE BEALGLE NEWS also learned that Dr. Tawo equally secured an office space for the ADC at the Etung Local Government Area headquarters in Effraya, strengthening the party’s administrative presence in the locality.

According to political observers, the development signals increasing political repositioning at the grassroots level ahead of future elections in the state.

They note that the ADC has in recent times been working to deepen its structures and visibility across wards and local government areas.

As of press time, the APC leadership in Bendeghe-Ekiem, Etung Local Government Area had yet to issue an official reaction to the development.
