Jarigbe Appears Before Cross River North APC Stakeholders Panel, Says North At Peace
The Senator representing Cross River North Senatorial District, Senator Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe, on Thursday appeared before the Cross River North stakeholders’ panel of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogoja.
The Senator, who appeared before the panel chaired by Chief Tony Undiandeye, was successfully screened.
Jarigbe arrived at the screening venue alongside a fellow aspirant and former member of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Ochiglegor Idagbo, in a show of unity and support.
In a show of solidarity, Hon. Idagbo later stepped down from the race and publicly declared his support for Senator Jarigbe, further strengthening the cohesion within the party ranks in the senatorial district.
Addressing the panel, the Senator said: " The Cross River North Senatorial District remains peaceful and united. And this can be seen by the visible camaraderie between himself and Hon. Idagbo at the screening venue was a clear testament to the prevailing harmony in the region.
“The peace we enjoy in Cross River North is evident for all to see. Anyone who claims otherwise is clearly out of touch with the reality on ground and cannot be said to be a true member of our political family.
" Despite previous political affiliations, the collective movement of stakeholders into the APC demonstrates a shared vision and enduring unity.
"All of us were in the PDP, and now we are in the APC. This simply means that our political family remains one, united by a common purpose."
Senator Jarigbe, however, commended the screening panel and party stakeholders for their cooperation, support, and commitment to the growth, stability, and prosperity of Cross River North.
He promised to run an inclusive leadership and continued development across the senatorial district.
In a gesture of goodwill and grassroots support, Senator Jarigbe and Rt. Hon. Idagbo jointly donated the sum of ₦20 million, which was distributed across the five local government areas of the Senatorial district to cater for logistics.
Feelers form the screening panel have it that Jarigbe is likely to emerge as a consus senatorial candidate for Cross River North ahead of primaries
