Senator Jarigbe Facilitates Training to Strengthen Healthcare Delivery in C'River North

No fewer than 40 healthcare professionals from Cross River North senatorial district have been trained on the 12-Pillar clinical governance framework work.

The training programme, which took placed in Calabar on Thursday, was organised by HRI Global and facilitated by the Senator representing Northern senatorial district of Cross River, Jarigbe Agom-Jarigbe.

According to the Senator, the 12-Pillar clinical governance framework is aimed at protecting patients and supporting healthcare practitioners across the district.

He asserted that the programme is an evidence-based initiative designed to strengthen healthcare systems in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). 

"The framework provides a comprehensive approach to improving healthcare quality, enhancing patient safety, and supporting healthcare workers for more efficient service delivery.

"The training covered key areas, including health policy and health acts, funding mix, equipment, infrastructure, utilities, and ambience.

"others to include risk management, education and training, clinical audit, information and communication technology (ICT), Patient and Public Involvement (PPI), staff and staff management, as well as clinical effectiveness," he explained.

Agom-Jarigne emphasized the need for professionalism, evidence-based practice, quality service delivery, commitment, accountability, and a patient-centred approach to drive sustainable growth and development in the health sector across Cross River North.

He further noted that the effective implementation of the 12-Pillar clinical governance programme would significantly strengthen both public and private healthcare systems within the district and beyond.

Participants expressed deep appreciation to the lawmaker for facilitating what they described as a pioneering healthcare capacity-building initiative. 

They also pledged to apply the knowledge gained and pass it on to future generations of healthcare professionals.

Participants were selected from the five local government areas of the senatorial district.
