Former Chelsea winger Raheem Sterling has joined Dutch club Feyenoord on a free transfer, marking a new chapter in his illustrious career.
The 31-year-old England international, who left Chelsea by mutual consent in January, has signed a deal with Feyenoord until the end of the season. Sterling, who has represented Liverpool, Manchester City, Arsenal, and Chelsea in the Premier League, is looking to revive his career under the guidance of former Manchester United and Arsenal striker Robin van Persie, who is now Feyenoord's head coach.
Sterling expressed his excitement about joining Feyenoord, saying, "As a free agent, I've had, for the first time in a long time, the opportunity to control the next step in my career. I wanted to take my time to speak with clubs and their head coaches to better understand the role they envisioned for me and ensure that I can add real value in this next chapter".
Van Persie welcomed Sterling to Feyenoord, praising his football resume and expressing confidence that he will be a valuable addition to the team. Feyenoord is currently second in the Eredivisie table, 17 points behind leaders PSV.
