Varsity Don,Ene Okon, Defects to APC in C'River

Dr Patrick Okon, a former member of the House of Representatives and a lecturer with the University of Calabar (UNICAL) has defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Cross River.

Okon was a former stalwart of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

His defection followed his resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

In his letter of resignation to the ward chairman of Eneyo South of Akpabuyo local government and made available by the University lecturer did not give reason for his defection.

"I wish to formally inform you of my decision to withdraw my membership of the PDP with immediate effect.

"As I leave your political fold, I will always hold dearly in my heart the comradery we shared, and I wish to thank you for all the support you gave me as the leader of the PDP in my ward," the letter stated.

Okon was a former Chairman of Akpabuyo council area, former member of the state House of Assembly, as well as a former member of the House of Representatives.
