Osusuokpor Community Celebrates as Lawmaker Unveils Borehole Project

The Member Representing Ikom 1 State Constituency, Hon. Samuel Neji Abang, has commissioned a water project in Osusuokpor Community, Ikom Local Government Area. 

The borehole project marks a significant milestone in the community's development.

Commissioning the project, the Secretary of Ikom Council, Hon. Edo Owan, admonished the community to guard the project jealously and protect the it from vandalization.

Handing over the project, the member representing Ikom 1 Hon. Samuel Neji Abang assured the people of more developmental projects to come. He confirmed that the government of Governor Bassey Otu has captured two major roads in Ofutop 1&2 while promising that the community would soon experience significant development in line with the peoples first mantra.

In their remark, the chairman of the community Mr. Randy Njan, thanked Hon. Abang for finding them worthy of the project and alleviating their sufferings.

According to him, "We have never been remembered since 1999, but today you have given us life because water is life."

“In the past, women and children would travel long distances, often as far as the boundary between Ikom and Obubra, to access water, especially during dry seasons but with this project, that has become a thing of the past” Njan said.

The water project is expected to improve the lives of the people of Osusuokpor Community by providing them with access to clean drinking water while enhancing their overall well-being.

The visit also saw the wife of the lawmaker Mrs. Agatha Abang gift wrappers to widows in the community.
