By Ayo Ubana

Fresh students of the University of Cross River State, Unicross, have been enjoined to maximize their stay in the institution by devoting their time, energies, and resources towards actualizing their academic aspirations.

The Vice Chancellor of the school, Professor Augustine Agban gave the charge while speaking at the 22nd Matriculation ceremony of the Calabar Campus of the institution held yesterday, Thursday.

He lauded the students for the choice of "an excellent environment that boosts very cerebral, competent, and patriotic staff" for the pursuance of their academic endeavors and sued for concrete determination to attain set targets.

Prof. Angba posited that;" Your matriculation today is only the beginning of your journey, you must know that the university graduate students in character and learning, you must develop a desire and a commitment to your best behavior".

He cautioned the students against absenteeism stressing that overwhelming attendance at lectures constitutes a prerequisite requirement for examinations.

"You have been told in your orientation that you are tasked with having at least a 70℅ attendance in all lectures to be qualified to write exams. The import of this is that the university does not tolerate absenteeism on the part of the students".

A total of six thousand one hundred and fifty fresh students matriculated across the three campuses of the institution.
