RIVERS: WIKE TO FACE DISCIPLINARY COMMITTEE, SAYS PDP CHAIRMAN

By Austine PREYE, PORT HARCOURT

The Rivers State Chairman of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), Robinson Ewoh, has vowed to set up disciplinary committee to investigate the actions of Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike, accusing him of anti party activities.

Speaking during an interview in Port Harcourt recently, with Symfony TV, Ewoh outlined plans to restore unity and discipline within the party.

He accused Wike of contributing to the destabilisation of the party in the state, saying that no one would be exempt from scrutiny.

Addressing Wike’s alleged role in undermining the PDP, he said: "If he’s so powerful, so popular, let him go and register his own party. Patriotic Nigerians registered the PDP.

" If you check the list of founding fathers, his name is not there. By the time we set up the disciplinary committee, his case will be reviewed. If it requires expulsion, we will expel him.

"If it requires suspension, we will suspend him. If there’s no case, he stays. But action must be taken.

"Wike and some people have inflicted so much pain on members of the PDP in this state. My first target as chairman is to heal the wounds they have inflicted on the party. We must restore unity and rebuild trust among our members.

"In the next few days, we will set up a disciplinary committee to look into cases of members involved in anti-party activities.

"Those whose actions are extreme will be expelled, while others may face suspension or other disciplinary measures. The key is to restore discipline and hope in the party.

"We must take decisive steps to rebuild this party and ensure it becomes a united front again," he stated.
