Proposed C'River College Of Medicine: CRSG, WHO Partner To Support Accreditation Of Pre-clinical Courses

The Cross River State Government and the World Health Organization will work closely to realize the establishment of the College of Medicine in the University of Cross River State.
Disclosing this to journalists after meeting with officials of the World Health Organization in his office today, the Cross River State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Henry Egbe Ayuk said the State Government will be supported by WHO to ensure that pre-clinical courses in the college are accredited by the National University Commission (NUC), which he said will pave way for clinical training to takeoff.
Dr. Ayuk said the development is in tandem with the commitment of the government of Senator Bassey Edet Otu to establish the College of Medicine as a sustainable measure for human health force for the state.
Speaking earlier, the leader of the WHO team, Dr Muyiwa assured support to the government to grow her health workforce through relevant assistance in the area infrastructure development and training at the three training institutions in Ogoja.
Dr Muyiwa also assured of support to both Colleges of Nursing Sciences at Calabar and Itigidi, respectively.
