PRESS RELEASE: Gov Otu Inaugurates Ogoja Council Bus Shuttle
Cross River State Governor, Sen. Prince Bassey Edet Otu, has expressed optimism that the Chairman of Ogoja Local Government Council, Hon Christopher Agbeh, will deliver the much- expected dividends of democracy.
Otu said the Chairman has a lofty blueprint that will enhance development in the area.
Governor Otu, who felt challenged by the early score of Ogoja local government council chairman, said he was overwhelmed with the flagging off of the mass transit fleet embarked upon within a month of his assumption of office without receiving funds from any quater and promised to return to Ogoja with good tidings.
While welcoming the Governor and his entourage, the Chairman of Ogoja local government council, Hon Christopher Agbeh, described His Excellency's acceptance to honour his invitation to flag off the mini bus shuttle as a display of love and encouragement to drive the process of progress in his local government area. The Chairman explained that his administration was poised to aggressively reduce poverty, hunger and hardship thus the floating of the bus shuttle which shall reduce transportation fare and increase internally generated revenue as well as engage the youths meaningfully. He assured that more buses shall be procured to cover the rural areas of the local government.
The highlight of the occasion was the flag off ceremony of the Mass Transit Buses christian "Ogoja Council Line" by His Excellency the Governor, Sen Prince Bassey Edet Otu, assisted by the Deputy Governor, RT. Hon. Peter Agbe Odey (Ph.D), the Chairman of All Progressive Congress in the State, Barr. Alphonsus Ogar Eba and the Chief of Staff to the Governor Mr Emmanuel Ironbar.
