Vice Chancellor of UEE Akamkpa Inaugurates Two Senate Committees, Charges Them on Fairness, Integrity, and Due Process in the Discharge of Their Duties.
In a renewed drive to strengthen institutional discipline and uphold academic integrity, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Education and Entrepreneurship (UEE), Akamkpa, Prof. Patrick N. Asuquo, has inaugurated two key Senate Committees — the Senate Committee on Students’ Disciplinary Matters and the Senate Committee on Students’ Examination Misconduct.
The inauguration, which took place on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at about 9:30 a.m., preceded the 7th Regular Senate Meeting of the University. The Vice Chancellor was ably represented by the Registrar of the University, *Amb. Dr. Gabriel Egbe, who officially inaugurated the committees in his office at the Administrative Block of the University’s main campus.
In his address, Amb. Dr. Egbe charged the newly inaugurated committees to handle all students’ matters referred to them with utmost fairness, transparency, and integrity, ensuring that no student is denied the right to a fair hearing.
He urged members to adhere strictly to the provisions of the Students’ Handbook when deliberating on cases, emphasizing that the University maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward all forms of indiscipline and examination malpractice.
“You are to dispense justice with fairness and integrity. Every student brought before your committee must be given the opportunity to defend themselves in line with the University’s established procedures,” he stated. “Your decisions must reflect the values of this institution — truth, equity.
Both committees were mandated to investigate students’ disciplinary and examination misconduct cases, ensure fair hearing in line with university regulations, expeditious handling of cases referred to them cum quick dispensation of justice and to make appropriate recommendations to promote integrity and discipline within the institution.
The Registrar reaffirmed the University’s strong commitment to upholding the highest standards of discipline and academic honesty, describing the committees as “custodians of fairness and justice within the University community.
The Students disciplinary Committee has Dr (Mrs) Mary Tandu as chairman with Dr (Mrs) Aniema Otu, Dr Okon Ita Dr Akpanke Umah, Mr Victor M. Ogar as members and Mr Adat Adat Edet as Secretary, while the Students Examination Misconduct Committee is chaired by Dr Mercy Ekwere with Dr Fudelis Ajah, Dr Mrs Stella Ogar Eyam , Mr Effiong Oji and Dr Boniface Adie as members and Mr Mac-Enya Akpang is to serve as Secretary
