UNICAL Students Applaud VC Over Street Lighting

tudents of the University of Calabar have applauded the Vice Chancellor of the institution, Prof Florence Banku Obi for providing functional street lights on campus.
The Beagle News gathered that the institution’s streets used to be in total darkness before the administration of Prof. Florence Banku Obi, leading to high rate of phone theft, harassment and other forms of social vices.
Meanwhile, security situation of the institution has been revamped as everywhere on the campus now looks brighter in the night and students can now go about their normal businesses at night without any iota of intimidation from hoodlums.
In an interview, a 300-level student of History and International studies in the faculty of arts and humanities and who preferred anonymity, said: “The school under the management of Prof. Florence Banku Obi has lived up to expectations in terms of security, describing her as “an action woman.”
“We commend the chief security officer, Rtd. Cpt. Austin Bisong, and his men for their pragmatic approach and tactics in handling security issues across the University community.”
