Unical Senate Approves 3 Post Graduate Programmes For Mass Comm. Department

The University of Calabar Senate has given approval for the Department of Mass Communication to commence three post graduate programmes.

The decision was reached on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 during the 233rd session of the institution's senate in Calabar. With the approval, the Department of Mass Communication would now run post-graduate diploma, master's and doctorate degrees' programme.

Reacting to the development, the Head of Department, Prof Chukwuemeka Okugo, commended the Vice Chancellor, Prof Florence Obi, for her effort in ensuring that mass communication gets the required facilities to enhance teaching, learning and innovative exploration in line with global standard. 

He expressed optimism that the approved programmes would be given necessary attention as plans are now in place to ensure strict compliance with senate approval. 

Okugo revealed that the programmes leading to the award of PGD Mass Communication, M.A and Ph.D Mass Communication would commence from next academic session.
