Prof Obi gave the charge while speaking to the new leadership of Academic Staff Union of Universities, UNICAL Chapter, Monday, who were in her office on a familiarization visit.

She assured the new leadership of Management's support, noting that her administration would speedily consent to the Union's demands when properly channelled for the overall good of the University. He however reminded the Vice Chancellor what the Union represents, stating that like Oliver Twist, the Union will always ask for more, especially as it concerns the welfare of its members. He also sued for the cooperation of the University Management while hoping for a harmonious relationship between them.

In a vote of thanks, the immediate past Chairman of the Union, Dr. John Edor Esq., admonished the Vice Chancellor to take the new ASUU leadership of the University seriously and provide support in the very measure that his leadership was supported.

He praised the VC for remaining a commited member with proven record of attending congresses even as Vice Chancellor, saying "little wonder you have a lot to show as achievements for the University.

He promised, on his part, to continue playing an advisory role both to the new leadership and to the Vice Chancellor, and encouraged all to harmoniously work for the best interest of the University.
