Prof. Enang, Ekwok Elected Senate Members Into VC Search Committee

In compliance with the practice of setting up a committee to visit other universities to shop for a Vice Chancellor, two Senate representatives were elected last Thursday at the sitting of the Senate of the University of Calabar.

The Senate representatives are the current Chairman, Committee of Deans, Prof. Ekaete Enang and the incumbent Head of Department of Mass Communication, Dr Lawrence Ekwok. Ekwok is also the Chairman, Editorial Board of THE BEAGLE NEWS newspaper.

Both representatives were elected unopposed after due nominations.

Two more representatives will be elected from the congregation of the University of Calabar on Tuesday, July 1, 2025 to form the search team which will be led by a Council member who must not be a member of the Senate of the University of Calabar.

The congregation is made up of every degree holder in the University of Calabar.
