Profs Idike, Odoh, Nwankwo, Nwebonyi, Igariwey, Mbam, Eze, Ogban, Ogbuoji, 6 Others Make List of Committee Members To Reactivate NIGERCEM

Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru announced the constitution of 15 member Committee to reactivate NIGERCEM Factory, the state’s cement company.

The committee members are , Mrs. Catherine Ogbu, Prof. Adline Idike, Hon. Iduma Igariwey, Associate Prof. Ben Odoh, Hon. Sunday Eze and Sen. Chris Nwankwo.

Others are, Sen. Ken Eze, Sen. Antony Ani, Sen. Onyekachi Nwebonyi, Engr Elias Mbam, Sen. Sonni Ogbuoji , Barr Roy Umahi, SAN, Sen . Obinna Ogba , Sen. Slyvanus Ngiji Ngele and Chief Ben Okah.

Nwifuru, who announced this during a church service at the Government House Chapel, said it is part of the industrialization drive aimed at creating employment opportunities for the citizens.

According to the Governor, “the Committee should liaise with the core investor and shareholders to work out modalities for the immediate commencement of operations in the company which has been moribund for several decades. The Committee has two weeks to provide solutions to the problem “

Governor Nwifuru reiterated his irrevocable plans to transform the Abakaliki metropolitan city, restoring its lost glory inline with earlier master plan of the ancient eastern City.

The Governor who spoke on the sidelines of infrastructure, industrialization, and urban renewals said a Town Hall meeting has been convened to engage stakeholders on the best approach to actualize the project.
