Late Payment: Unical Student Under Pressure Over Courses Registration
Students of the University of Calabar have expressed fear over what they described as late semester registration of courses online due to late payment of school fees.
Investigation by our Campus Correspondent revealed that some students who are yet to pay their school fees could not access the school fees portal because some of their results are still withheld.
It was gathered that some students could not make any payment until all their last semester's results are released but the controversy surrounding the whole situation is that some students' results are still not ready.
Expressing dismay at the development, a 300 level student of philosophy in the faculty of Arts and Humanity who does not want her name to be mentioned, said the situation has pushed her to depression even as she no longer comprehend amid the ugly condition.
She said: "We are passing through some difficult times as a result of the new policy. Some students may have spent the money meant for their school fees having waited for weeks without having access to the school fees portal.
"We call on the Deputy Vice Chancellor Academics, the Dean of Students Affair to look into the matter and set up a welfare committee to come to our aid and extend the registration deadline."
