Resident students of Hall 5 in the Republic of Malabor, University of Calabar (UNICAL), have expressed displeasure on the abandonment of the hall's water tank

Our correspondent, Ukpa Abraham, who visited the area reports that the water tank was left in a deplorable condition as a result of faulty sumo that generates water for the tank which has lasted for about two semesters

It was also gathered that the students now go to the neighbouring halls, the Mosque and the Unical Chapel of Redemption to fetch water thereby making life difficult for them as a result of long queue.

There are many physically challenged and visually impaired students in the hall who are handicapped and find it difficult to fetch water from other halls and this has posed a great threat to their lives as they cannot do some things on their own.

In an exclusive interview with one of the students, who preferred anonymity,  he said the Vice Chancellor , Prof. Florenece Obi, is extremely doing well in construction and described the Vice Chancellor as "Mrs. Project" but expressed shock that residents of hall 5 are not feeling the impact of her developmental strides.

Calls put across to the hall's Director of Welfare were abortive as at the time of filing this report.
