UNICAL, Thailand Varsity Sign MoU To Boost Education, Research

The University of Calabar and Kasetsart University, Bangkok, Thailand have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)  to boost cooperation in education and academic research. 

Formalising the event  at the Council Chambers of the University of Calabar, the Vice Chancellor, Prof Florence Obi and Registrar, Mr Gabriel Egbe  from Unical and the Vice President for Administration, Dr Damrong Sripraram and Dean, Faculty of Science, Associate Prof Apisit Songsaseh Kasetsart University signed relevant documents to seal the agreement.

The MoU is based on the recognition of the common interest of both institutions towards cultural enrichment, scientific progress and consolidation of friendship essentially to promote education and research between both academic institutions based on mutual respect for their autonomy as covered under the laws and regulations in force by both countries where the institutions reside.

Accordingly, the MoU which will be teaching and research driven would cover the exchange of faculty, staff and research and discussions as well as visits  and exchange of Postgraduate and underground students to engender collaboration on joint supervision and cooperation.

 Others areas of interest include inter-university research collaboration Proposal writing, research activities, international proposals, participation in seminars, meetings with focus and exchange of academic and scientific information of mutual interest and any other mutually agreed activities that would benefit both parties. 

 It is expected to run for three years and is subject to renewal in the interest of both parties.
