Unical Mass Communication Dept. to Commence Post Graduate Programme in October 2023

he Dean of Post Graduate studies at the University of Calabar, Prof. Eyong Ubana, has assured that new set of graduate students for Post Graduate Diploma, Master's and Doctorate Degree programmes in the department of Mass Communication would embark on lectures in October 2023.
Prof. Ubana, who gave the assurance during an extraordinary board meeting of the department of Mass Communication, said preparations for the programme has already commenced to enable them start the first batch of the graduate students as scheduled.
He restated the institution's Post Graduate School’s commitment and vision to ensure very keen manpower development and deepening curricular offerings of the institution.
He said: “We want to make things easy because we have done something which ought to be ab initio. This is to give you the tool to actualize the objective of the Nigerian Universities Commission (NUC) in providing quality teaching and learning.”
Speaking at the board meeting, the head of department of Mass Communication, Prof. Chukwuemeka Uzoma Okugo, expressed gratitude on the development describing it as a round peg in a round hole, expressing optimism that the lecturers would work in tandem with the post graduate school to ensure effective teaching and learning.
Recall that the commencement of Post Graduate Programmes in Mass communication in October is as a result of the decision reached on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 during the 23rd session of the institution's senate in Calabar.
