Esuk Utan Community Commends FaithPlant Firm For Speedy Construction Of Road Project
By Hannah ARIKPO
The Esuk Utan business community has praised the indigenous Construction Company, FaithPlant Global, handling the dualiazation of the Zone 6 - NNPC - Tank Farm road, at Esuk Utan in the Calabar Municipality for the speedy completion of work.
The 2km dual sided drainage road project will upon completion be fitted with a solar street lighting system.
One of the major benefits for the reconstruction of the road project which has of late become a death trap is to ensure safe accessability in and out of the tank farms as well as decongest traffic from both NNPC and NPA/NEPZA into the highway.
Formally, the road was a single narrow corridor with threats to fuel tankers driving in and out with products as well as other road users.
Speaking in an interview with 'the Beagle News' Correspondent, some Residents in the area who claimed anonymity, observed that in past years at different occasions budgetary allocations were made for the construction of the road and yet nothing happens, sometimes equipment were stationed along the road by some construction companies only to disappear after awhile.
Another respondent, Mr Friday Chigozie who is also resident in the area, commended FaithPlant Global, the construction company for not only completing the job on schedule but presented a clean neat job.
"My excitement is that this is an indigenous construction company, that did this clean, neat work, initially, when we saw the name on the machines, we thought it's going to be the usual story, FaithPlant shut our mouths." Friday remarked.
The people first mantra of the Governor, Prince Bassey Otu, thought it wise to reconstruct the road by expanding it into a dual carriage way to give a safer drive and confidence to all motorists plying the route.
A long standing business man in the area, Alhaji Isa Suleiman who also spoke to our correspondent said, "it is by the goodness of Allah that we have not had a major tanker disaster here, like what has happened in Port Harcourt recently.
Tankers are not expected to ply small routes struggling with potholes, other motorists and pedestrians everywhere. This Governor is a good man, he wants business to survive in the state and if this is all he can do for us in this area, we are fine with it.
For over eight years we battle with business here, but see us now having express road, our business will expand and value will be added to our investments. May Allah be praised''. Elated Isa emphasized.
God bless you His Excellency Senator Prince Bassey Otu Governor of Cross River State, he prayed.
