  The Ugep Traditional Rulers Council in Yakurr local government area, has conferred on the Cross River Commissioner of Environment Obol Moses Osogi, the Chieftaincy title of Obol Okammke 1 of Ugep meaning "A Great Philantropist " 

 Performing the traditional rites, the Paramount Ruler of Yakurr and Obol Lopon of Ugep, Obol Ofem Ubana Eteng at the Umor Otutu Place in Ugep, noted that the recognition was in view of the Commissioner's commitment towards serving humanity culminating in numerous philanthropic gestures every where he finds himself.

  He described Obol Osogi as a helper who touched lives of not only his acquaintances but created positive impact among all segments of society, saying "Osogi indeed a gift to the present generation evident in the responses of those around him.

  "The conferment of Obol Okammke 1 title of Ugep on Hon Osogi marks a significant mile stone, to uphold his legacies and lifestyle expressing the numerous attributes of the Commissioner which has endured him to the men, youths as well as women of his country home, Anong and beyond," Obol Eteng emphasised.

  In his response, Obol Osogi appreciated the Ugep Traditional Rulers Council and good people of Yakurr for the rare and distinguished honour bestowed on him adding that the sacred conferment is not only a personal milestone but symbolic of ensuring the values, unity and cultural heritage of the Yakurr Nation.

 The newly installed Obol who was accompanied by his wife Linda Moses Osogi stated that the Chieftaincy title signifies the age-long bond existing between the people of Yakurr and the Anong community.

  "What is happening today is significant to what is coming in future, I promise to reciprocate. Last week Ediba people gave me a title that is in tandem with what Umor Otu has given me today, I went to Nko the same recognition. It is obvious a golden fish is not hidden in the ocean," he stated.

  In some good will messages, the Commissioner for Transportation, Hon. Ekpenyong Ene Cobham, Member representing Boki 1 state constituency, Hon Bette Phillip Obi others state, "This recognition is a testament of your indelible humanitarian exceptional leadership, acumen and stewardship as a public servant."

  "As you embrace this new role, may wisdom guide your decisions and foster unity, progress and cultural pride," they prayed.
