OPINION: A Call for Leadership and Unity in APC:
By Okoi Obono-Obla
In October 2024, I called on the APC State Chairman, Barrister Alphonsus Eba, to resign his position. I was thoroughly insulted by one Emmanuel Inyang, yet I restrained myself from pursuing litigation. Now, what I foresaw in 2024 is precisely what the APC Working Committee, together with Chapter Chairmen and Secretaries in the State, are demanding. I am therefore vindicated.
I believe in due process, democratic ideals, and transparency. Yet, in a transitional period, we sometimes have to blend the principles of idealism with the realities of pragmatism. I foresee a smoldering fire, and as an elder of the APC, I feel compelled to douse it quickly.
In order to save the Party from internecine warfare and factional division, I advise Barrister Eba to throw in the towel, resign, and move on.
