Yakurr Lawmaker, Omini, Empowers 200 Widows With Wrappers, Fertilizers

In the spirit of Leboku International festival, member representing Yakurr 1 State Constituency in Cross River State House of Assembly, Hon. Cyril Omini, has empowered bout 200 widows with fertilizers and wrappers. Omini, House Committee Chairman on Finance, Budget, and Appropriation, said empowerment is part of his electioneering promise aimed at uplifting the needy in the society and give then sense of belonging.

Omini emphasised the importance of supporting widows within the community, saying "they deserve our care and attention at this critical period the nation and state are undergoing economic downturns.

"Through our collective efforts, we aim to empower and uplift those who have faced challenging circumstances.

"The provision of fertilizers is intended to boost agricultural productivity, thereby improving the livelihoods of these women.

"The distribution of wrappers not only celebrates the cultural heritage of the Leboku festival but also reinforces the community's solidarity with its widows, acknowledging their valued place in society.

"I, therefore, reaffirm my commitment to fostering a harmonious and supportive environment within his constituency, with a focus on promoting progress and inclusivity for all."
