IT was a carnival of sort as creme de la creme were at Alok community in Ikom local government area of Cross River state to pay last respect to late Hon. Ntol Chris Ngoro Agibe.

Late Agibe who gave up the ghost a few weeks ago, was laid to eternal rest at his residence at Alok village.

Agibe was a former commissioner for agriculture and finance and a member of House of Representatives, representing Ikom/Boki federal constituency. He was the leader of Passion Four Carnival band, which dominated the Calabar Carnival show, described as African Biggest Street party.

Speaking at the burial ceremony, Eteng said: "Rt. Hon. Chria Agibe was more than a seasoned lawmaker who diligently represented the good people of Ikom/Boki Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives from 2015 to 2023.  He was a cultural icon, a true son of the Bakor Nation, and a revered traditional chief of Alok.

"His passion for preserving and promoting our rich heritage was evident in his pivotal role as one of the founding leaders of the renowned Passion 4 Carnival Band, which continues to be a proud cultural symbol of our state.

"As we bid farewell to a man of uncommon grace, intellect, and cultural pride, my thoughts and prayers remain with his immediate family and the Bakor Nation. May God grant them the strength and comfort to bear this painful loss."

Other dignataries at the event including Governor Bassey Otu, represented the Speaker of Cross River State House of Assembly, Hon. Elbert Ayambem, former Governors Donald Duke, Liyel Imoke, Sen,  Gershom Bassey,  Chris Agara and Etubom Bassey Ndem eulogised the late lawmaker, describing his death as a great loss to the state and the cultural community.
