C'River Gov't To Establish Aviation College - Captain Inah
Cross River State Government has stated that plans for the establishment of a College of Aviation in the state are underway.
Speaking through the Commissioner Aviation, Capt Eno Utum Inah (Retd), the government said it is making arrangements to establish an Aviation School in Bebi, Obanlikwu Local Government Area.
He noted that the reason for choosing Bebi is because of the already existing Airstrip with some of the facilities on ground for an Aviation College and proximity to the Obudu Ranch Resort and the Cargo Airport under construction.
Capt. Inah hinted that with air transportation at the heart of global economic growth, the establishment of the Air college will create expansion and open up more job opportunities for the people of Cross River State.
"As a government what we are trying to do is to explore all avenues that will bring economic prosperity to the state, considering the 'People First' Agenda"We will leverage on our aesthetic terrain to boost it's internally generated revenue through creating enabling environment for business to thrive."
According to the Commissioner, an enabling environment would ensure that facilities to enhance tourists attraction are managed optimally.
The Aviation Boss maintained that the establishment of the College will support sustainable and all-round development in the state, stating that upon establishment of the said institution and with the Airport in place, the Ranch Resort will be a beehive of activity as tourists will make it a destination and equally improve the standard of living of the people.
The Commissioner informed that ground work was still being carried out for the actualization of this lofty dream of the Otu-led administration, and that in no distant time plans would be concluded to kick-start the programme.
Capt Inah, who expressed government's commitment to better the lot of Cross Riverians and residents of the state in all sectors, said traffic in the Ranch Resort has reduced because of none functionality of some facilities like the Cable Car and other facilities.
He said with the Governor Senator Prince Bassey Otu's policy of continuity he is certain that all Infrastructure that would make the state work again would be fixed.
